Common Ground v0.1
An original fictional teaching game developed with Codex for Teaching Wargaming under Dr. Haider Mullick’s direction. It uses original rules, event text and interface code. The numbers are teaching assumptions; balance and educational value await classroom evaluation.
Inspired in part by influence competition and escalation trade-offs in Twilight Struggle: Red Sea (2022), designed by Jason Matthews, developed by Jason Carr and published by GMT Games. Red Sea graphics: Mark Simonitch and Terry Leeds; rules layout: James Hebert. © 2022 GMT Games, LLC. None of that game’s cards, map, artwork or rules text is reproduced in Common Ground. No affiliation, endorsement or permission from those contributors is implied. Original game and publisher.
Common Ground’s own rules govern its play. It is a self-contained educational exercise, distinct from our physical-game Red Sea companion. No purchase, account or printed components are required.

Teaching Wargaming’s contribution
A free educational project led by Dr. Haider Mullick, who teaches international security and public policy at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and McCourt School of Public Policy. This is an independent project, not an official Georgetown University website. Site tools are free to use; some exercises require separately obtained published games. The site contributes independently written teaching interfaces, worked exercises and public-state recording tools. Those contributions do not transfer ownership of the underlying games. Credits identify the editions and sources actually used. Further contributors or corrections will be added when verified.
